I was born in Liverpool, and grew up by the sea, near a beach now covered with Antony Gormley sculptures.

I've always loved to read and draw, especially stories of folklore, fantasy, myth and faery. I didn't know how to make that into a job, until I saw the film 'Labyrinth' on television as a teenager. Straight after the film was the documentary 'Inside the Labyrinth', which you can watch on YouTube. I knew then I wanted to work in film and tell stories, but I still didn't know how to get there.

I completed an Animation degree at the Surrey Institute of Art & Design in Farnham, before going to work as a props and model maker in Shepperton and Pinewood studios. My first modelmaking job was on Thomas the Tank Engine, but I worked on all kinds and loved my time there. My last production was Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

I've had lots of other jobs, including being a terrible waitress, working in Lidl, picture framing, and as an editor at Palgrave Macmillan.

Now I live in Devon with my husband, two children, a dog and four cats. I love tea, chocolate, painting, reading, crochet, making models, and being at the seaside.
